Hey...That's Me!

I was happily flipping through the January 2005 issue of one of my favorite fashion magazines, Kera, when my attention was suddenly caught by a clothing ad for one of the top Japanese punk fashion brands, Sex Pot ReVeNGe:

I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I recognized an image on one of the patches worn by the model. Here's a closeup:

I'm so thrilled that I've finally made it to Japan. I've always wanted to go there. Even if it's only on a patch.

ah, just like homer and "mr sparkle"! how does it feel to be iconic enough to be represented thus AND be still alive?? i often wondered what tomata thought at that panter-rendering of him taking on a life removed from it's original context. i think this is really cool.
ps please interview penelope - surely an honorary member of the original LA punk scene...

I asked my daughter about "Mr. Sparkle." You were right, it's just like that...Doh!

Tomata was already aware of Gary Panter's image of his face becoming an icon unto itself (and separate from the Screamers) during his own lifetime. I'm sure he was amused by it.

I was planning to seek an interview with Ms. Houston but I have a few others lined up ahead of her.

That's so awesome, Alice! Did you know about the old book "In the Gutter" that you're in? I've had it since about 1980. If you don't I'll scan it for you.

Wow I'm really impressed
You are very lucky to get eternalised on a Sex Pot Revenge Patch *___*
I'm a big fan of you and I would be so happy if you could send me this closeup (the one where you are singing) by email.
I really love this picture. You look so cool on it.
Is it possible? (ó___ò)
